A two hour exercise using Phil Hale's book - GOAD as a masterclass. I tried to get some dynamism out of the tentacles and the anatomy of the human. Also tried to keep the strokes visible and organic.

It started out as a variation of the Alien (ridley Scott) nest, when Dallas is captured by it in the Director's cut. It was a pretty detalied Copic in drawing on paper but when I started the painting in Photoshop CS 2, the concept transformed itself into a scene in hell.

The triangular composition where the diagonal character in cold colours cuts the hot red hell into 2 triangles in anguish and stretched tendons and muscles was focusing dynamism even thou there is no action, as the character is trapped/melted into the organic structure of hell.

One of my favourite personal works so far.

Based on the book Darkness Visible by William Styron, This short portrais a middle age writer facing a structural earthquake after he has to stop drinking.. The only think that was keeping his mind to face darkness. This short shows the almost catatonic writer as the pool floods... Unable to react.

My main focus was the head facial animation, the rest of the animation is mostly to have something finished..
